A Broken Shelf

Next Steps??

There were some great examples of perseverance and problem solving here. While eventually the solution was to get some support from students last year, I wonder what other problem solving strategies we could use to get students to try even more options before asking for help.

While measurement was the obvious connection here, we could have looked at counting more. How might that have helped us? What other problems might lead to more counting options?

From a writing perspective, we could look at extending on ideas in written notes. There are always lots of writing opportunities in class and outside, so this is something we can work on in the coming weeks.
